1. Introduction

This TOPPING Home Web Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to the TOPPING Home Web service provided by Guangzhou TOPPING Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”, or “TOPPING”). This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you access, register for, log into, connect devices through, edit PEQ settings in, use cloud configurations, community features, firmware update assistant features, and other Web features of TOPPING Home Web.

Please read and understand this Policy carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please stop using the relevant features.

2. Information We Collect

To provide TOPPING Home Web, we may collect the following information depending on the features you use:

• Account information: account name, email address, verification-code validation results, user ID, nickname, avatar, bio, region, birthday, gender, language, time zone, and other information you provide or edit;
• Authentication and session information: access tokens, refresh tokens, login status, remember-me preference, session expiry time, cookies, and necessary authentication data stored in local or session storage;
• Browser and network information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, language, access time, page path, API request results, error messages, and security logs;
• Device connection and control information: when you actively select and connect a TOPPING device in the browser, we may obtain the vendor ID, product ID, product name, serial number (if provided by the browser and device), device model, firmware version, hardware version, connection status, current device status, current configurations, control-command execution results, and device capability information through WebHID or related browser capabilities;
• Local device binding information: to improve the connection experience, the Web Service may store connected-device binding records, device names, product identifiers, serial numbers, device codes, and binding time in your browser locally;
• PEQ and audio parameter information: local PEQ configurations, cloud PEQ configurations, filter parameters, frequency, gain, Q value, channel mode, target curve, headphone model, import/export content, and synchronization status;
• Community interaction information: PEQ presets you publish or edit, titles, descriptions, categories, headphone brands and models, share codes, comments, likes, favorites, downloads, views, and report-related information;
• Firmware update information: device versions, firmware assistant platform and version, firmware package information, update status, error codes, debug information, and necessary logs used to troubleshoot update issues;
• Uploads and feedback: avatar files, feedback content, report content, screenshots, or other materials you voluntarily submit.

We do not use TOPPING Home Web to read, collect, or upload your local music, podcasts, or other audio media content.

3. Browser Permissions, Cookies, and Local Storage

Some features rely on browser permissions or local storage. For example, WebHID device connection requires you to actively select and authorize a device in the browser; by connecting a device, you authorize this website to access the selected TOPPING device, read device status, send control commands, and save related configurations; copying share codes may use clipboard capabilities; avatar uploads and PEQ import/export may use file selection or download capabilities; login status, language, theme, device bindings, and local PEQ configurations may be stored in cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage.

You can manage cookies, site permissions, and local data through your browser settings. Please note that disabling necessary cookies, site storage, or WebHID permissions may prevent login, device connection, cloud synchronization, local configuration storage, and other features from working properly.

4. How We Use Information

We may use collected information for the following purposes:

• to create and maintain accounts, complete login authentication, password reset, and session management;
• to provide device identification, connection, status reading, control-command delivery, configuration saving, PEQ editing, cloud synchronization, sharing, and firmware update features;
• to display and manage community content, including preset publishing, comments, likes, favorites, downloads, reports, and content moderation;
• to save language, theme, device binding, user profile, and other preference settings;
• to locate errors, troubleshoot issues, improve compatibility, maintain service security, and prevent fraud, attacks, or abuse;
• to send necessary notifications related to the Service, account security, device support, firmware updates, and rule changes;
• to conduct statistical analysis, product optimization, and service quality assessment after de-identification or anonymization;
• to comply with laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, judicial or administrative requests, and to protect the lawful rights and interests of us, users, or the public.

5. Public User Content

When you publicly publish PEQ presets, comments, nicknames, avatars, headphone models, or other profile information in the community/configuration center, such information may be viewed, searched, downloaded, used, interacted with, or forwarded by other users or visitors. Please do not include sensitive personal information, other people’s privacy, unauthorized works, or unlawful content in public submissions.

You may edit, delete, or unpublish certain content according to the features provided by the product. However, information that has been cached, screenshotted, downloaded by others, or retained as required by law may not be completely removable.

6. Sharing and Entrusted Processing

We do not sell your personal information. Except in the following circumstances, we will not share your personal information with third parties:

• with your explicit authorization or consent;
• when we entrust partners to process necessary information under our instructions to provide cloud services, object storage, email/SMS, content delivery, security risk control, data backup, customer support, statistical analysis, or other necessary services;
• when sharing necessary device information with TOPPING official related services or partners is required for device support, firmware updates, quality improvement, or after-sales service;
• when required by laws, regulations, judicial authorities, administrative authorities, or regulatory requirements;
• when necessary to protect personal or property safety, lawful rights and interests, or service security of us, users, or the public;
• in the event of merger, division, acquisition, asset transfer, bankruptcy liquidation, or similar transactions, where we will require the new holder of personal information to continue to be bound by this Policy.

7. Data Storage and Cross-Border Transfer

We may store and process your information within China or outside China depending on service deployment, cloud resources, and business needs. If cross-border transfer occurs, we will take necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

We retain your personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, unless laws and regulations require otherwise or retention is necessary for dispute resolution, security audits, or compliance obligations. After account cancellation, content deletion, or service termination, we will delete or anonymize relevant information in accordance with applicable laws and internal retention rules.

8. Information Security

We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including transmission encryption, access control, permission management, security audits, log monitoring, and backup and recovery.

However, please understand that Internet environments, browser capabilities, local devices, third-party networks, and systems may all involve risks, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also safeguard your account password, verification codes, and device permissions, and avoid logging in or authorizing devices in untrusted environments.

9. Your Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may exercise the following rights:

• access, correct, or supplement your account information, profile, and preference settings;
• delete certain content, comments, avatars, or other materials you have published;
• export or back up PEQ configurations and presets that you created;
• cancel your account or request deletion of personal information;
• withdraw granted browser permissions and clear cookies or local storage;
• consult, complain about, or request explanations regarding personal information processing rules.

You may submit requests through product features or the contact methods at the end of this Policy. To protect account and data security, we may need to verify your identity.

10. Protection of Minors

Our Service is primarily intended for adults. Minors under 18 years old should use the Service only with the companionship and consent of a legal guardian. If a guardian discovers that a minor has provided personal information to us without consent, please contact us promptly, and we will handle it in accordance with law after verification.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may include third-party websites, browser vendor capabilities, local assistants, open-source components, cloud services, firmware downloads, or other third-party services. Information processing activities of third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Please read the relevant rules before using third-party services.

12. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Policy based on service changes, laws and regulations, or operational needs. The updated Policy will be posted on the website, in the application, or at another appropriate location and will take effect on the date of posting or the stated effective date. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through page prompts, pop-ups, email, or other means.
